Spend a Night in a Transparent Jungle Bubble

For a unique and different type of accommodation, choose the Jungle Bubbles at Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort. Located in the countryside of Chiang Rai, these transparent pods provide amazing views of the surroundings and give tourists the opportunity to observe the elephants in their own habitat. What can be more beautiful and unique than that?

Make Paper Out of Elephant Poo Poo

If you are looking for a unique activity to try out while visiting Thailand, this one should be at the top of your list. Stop by the Elephant Poo Poo Paper Park in Chiang Mai and make your own paper out of elephant dung, while learning everything there is to know about this process. From the way the locals collect the dung, clean it and dry it, to the way they transform it into sheets of paper. If this doesn’t sound like your type of activity, you can also purchase elephant poo paper products to take home with you as souvenirs from different shops around Chiang Mai.

Have Dinner on a Tree

The gorgeous island of Ko Kood on Thailand’s East Coast offers its tourists one of the most unique and unforgettable dining experiences one could ever have. Guests of the luxurious Soneva Kiri resort can enjoy a memorable dinner in the treetops, in an amazing bamboo pod. The view from the tree canopy is nothing short of breath-taking and the food is absolutely delicious. Your waiter delivers the freshly prepared meals via zipline, which will make your dining experience even more fun.

Shop at the World’s Most Dangerous Market

The Maeklong Railway Market, also known as world’s most dangerous market, is located in the small Thai province of Samut Songkhram, on the Gulf of Thailand. This unique market has become a rather popular tourist attraction, due to the fact that it is located right on top of a railway line. People from all around the world visit this dangerous market to watch as trains run right through it – six times every day. The vendors here lay out their fresh fruit, vegetables and seafood on top of the railway, and collect them every time a train passes, with just a few centimetres to spare on each side.

Visit the Ghost Museum

If you are not in Thailand during the annual Phi Ta Khon Ghost Festival, one of the most fun celebrations in Thailand, pay a visit to the Phi Ta Khon Ghost Museum instead. Located inside the temple of Wat Pho Chai, this unique museum exhibits a wide selection of colourful and vibrant masks and elaborate costumes, all part of the annual Ghost Festival. The locals are welcoming and friendly and always happy to share their culture with you.

Play Football on Water

While the floating village of Koh Panyee in Phang Nga Bay is a unique destination on its own, you can make your experience even more fun with a game of football on water, with the locals. First built in the 1980s by the local youngsters, this floating football pitch is made from scrap materials and driftwood and has been upgraded several times since it was first built.

Visit the Monkey Temple

Home to thousands of monkeys, the Phra Prang Sam Yot temple is a top destination for people who want to enjoy spending time with the funny little creatures. But don’t even think of eating your lunch here, as you will be for sure left without food. While the monkeys helped put the temple on the global tourism map, the increase in their population has made their presence quite challenging for locals. However, besides the monkeys, the temple located in the city of Lopburi provides tourists with the opportunity to admire the beauty of the historic Khmer temple ruins.

Take a Selfie with the Giant Toad Statue

If you are looking for a unique, Instagram-worthy selfie to take while vacationing in Thailand, this is the place to go. The giant toad statue in Yasothon was built in 2015 as an homage to the toad prince, Phraya Kankak (a local folklore story) and houses a museum and an observation deck. This iconic landmark comes in at 19 metres high and occupies 835m2 of land, overlooking the Thuan River.
