Soft sands, subtle coastal breezes and the extremely relaxing sound of the crashing waves are all features of some of the most incredibly breathtaking beaches on the planet. However, plenty beaches around the world are unique and offer more than incredible ocean views, attracting loads of tourists each year. So, let’s take a look at some of the most impressive beaches worth visiting in 2023.

Rangiroa, French Polynesia

French Polynesia is undeniably home to some of the most beautiful beaches, extraordinary marine fauna and to some of the most stunning pearls in the world. You can’t really go wrong with any island you choose, but if you are looking for something more secluded, Rangiroa is the place for you. With its abundant marine life and stunning lagoons, Rangiroa is any diver’s paradise, worth visiting at least once in your life. Besides, if you are visiting French Polynesia you should embark on an island-hopping tour, so you can enjoy as many gorgeous islands as you can. And don’t miss the opportunity to pay a visit to a local pearl farm, to learn more about these stunning gems. Besides, it will give you a chance to purchase a few pairs of gorgeous drop earrings and a couple of pearl bracelets, perfect as souvenirs or as a 30th anniversary gift (the pearl milestone).

Pink Sand Beach, Indonesia

The Pink Beach on Komodo Island in Indonesia is only a short boat trip away from the town of Labuan Bajo in Flores, and pretty much the only way to get there. Famous for its unique pinkish sand colour and gorgeous turquoise water, the Pink Beach is the most colourful beach Indonesia has to offer. Pink sand beaches are very rare, even more than black beaches, and there are only a few of them in the world. Their beautiful pinkish colour comes from microscopic red organisms that live in the coral reefs and end up on the beach. Surrounded by tall hills and mountains, this secluded gem is nothing short than breathtaking.

Shell Beach, Australia

If you are looking for a memorable travel destination for 2023, you should definitely consider the picturesque Shell Beach in Australia. Made up of billions of tiny shells, this stunning beach stretches for over 70 kilometres of only shells and no sand. What makes this place so unique is that there are very few places on earth where shells totally replace beach sand, and the Shell Beach in Australia is one of them. The intense greens and blue water at Shell Beach is very salty, similar to the Dead Sea in Jordan, which makes it ideal for people who are not very good swimmers.

Pig Beach, Bahamas

Made out of nearly 700 coral islands, the Bahamas archipelago is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With its crystal-clear turquoise waters and long stretches of white sands, the Bahamas is a very popular travel destination for people all over the world. However, some tourists don’t visit this exotic paradise only to lounge on its pristine beaches, but for a chance at a once in a lifetime experience of swimming with pigs. Inhabited by 20-25 feral pigs, who are skilled swimmers, this unique island has become one of the most visited islands in the Bahamas, thanks to the promotion received on social media. So, make sure you are ready to travel in style next summer, if you want to get that perfect Instagram-worthy pic.

Located in a small fishing village on the southern coast of the Algarve, the Benagil sea cave is one of Portugal’s most stunning and famous natural landmarks. The views from inside the cave are nothing less than breathtaking as the remarkable grotto features a hole in the ceiling, providing a glimpse of the blue sky above and making place for the sun to gently illuminate the golden sands and turquoise waters. Although you can explore the beach on foot and admire the rock formations from above, you can only access the inside of the cave by boat, kayak or paddleboard.
