Texas Chicken’s Salted Egg Chicken is back till 7 September! Special 8-Piece National Day Bundle ($58.80) for your celebrations!

With National Day just around the corner, Texas Chicken has brought back its annual signature salted egg chicken flavour to celebrate the occasion. Apart from the main star of salted egg crispy fried chicken, Texas Chicken has also launched a new Salted Egg Wrap to complement the limited edition collection.

Salted Egg Chicken

The salted egg coating is made from real duck eggs and each piece of chicken is not only coated generously, but sprinkled with salted egg crumbs.

While the chicken was tender and flavourful, the salted egg may not be the main flavour you taste after a few bites as the salted egg coating was rather spicy – think chili padi, which commonly features in Chinese salted egg dishes. Those who are intolerant of spice may want to get a drink to accompany this dish!

Salted Egg Wrap

The wrap features two pieces of crispy spicy chicken tenders, a variety of vegetables (diced tomatoes, diced red onions, fresh lettuce) and cheese topped with salted egg crumbs and salted egg paste, all wrapped in a toasted tortilla. Warm and savoury, the salted egg taste was unmistakable here and accompanied the chicken tenders and hearty contents well. Because of the thickness of the wrap, it can be rather filling and small eaters could afford to share one.
