The Istana will once again be open to all on 17 July 2022 (9 AM to 6 PM) in celebration of National Day. For the first time since the pandemic, live performances and activity booths will resume at the Istana Open House (IOH).
An exciting programme line-up awaits. From 10 AM to 4 PM, catch dance and band performances by student groups from Ang Mo Kio Secondary School, Chung Cheng High School (Main), Raffles Girls’ School (Secondary), and Seng Kang Secondary School at the Ceremonial Plaza and Main Tent.
Booths with activities ranging from sports to arts and crafts will be set up across two activity zones throughout the duration of the IOH.
At the Health and Wellness Playground zone, you can take part in sports activities, as well as traditional and carnival games. Head to the Arts and Crafts Adventures zone to try your hand at arts and crafts such as balloon sculpting and many more.
Guided tours of the Istana Main Building will be conducted from 9:30 AM to 4:15 PM, during which you can view selected function rooms and take a closer look at a collection of State Gifts presented to Singapore’s leaders, including the President and Prime Minister. You can also opt to go on self-guided tours.
Explore Istana’s flora and fauna with the Nature Guided Tour of the enhanced Japanese Garden and the Inclusive Garden from 10 am to 4 pm.

The Istana Main Building Guided Tours are conducted by volunteers from the National Heritage Board. The tours are limited to 15 persons per group and depart every 45 minutes from 9:30 AM to 4:15 PM. All fees collected will go towards charities supported by President’s Challenge.
Nature Guided Tour
The Nature Guided Tours are conducted by volunteers from NParks. The tours are limited to 15 persons per group and depart every hour from 10 AM to 4 PM. All fees collected will go towards charities supported by President’s Challenge.

There will be food trucks and merchandise booths with limited-edition Istana souvenirs and President’s Challenge souvenirs.

Entry to the Istana grounds is via the Main Gate at Orchard Road. The nearest MRT station is Dhoby Ghaut.
Entry to the Istana grounds is free for Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents. All other visitors are required to pay an entrance fee of $2 per adult. Only cashless payments via PayNow will be accepted.
