World Best Cities 2021 Study

Dubai has become one of the best cities for living, rest, business and investment. This is evidenced by the data of the latest study World Best City.

The company Resonance Consultancy is engaged in carrying out this analysis. The rating is compiled taking into account various criteria, including:

  • Convenience of living;
  • Level of communication with airports;
  • Variety of entertainment industry;
  • Salary level.

Dubai was in TOP-5 along with London, Paris, New York and Moscow. The report of the study says that the economic development of the emirate and its successful results in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic were taken into account. The diversity of impressions and opportunities of luxury shopping was taken into account, as well as the historical component — the magnificent Arab heritage. The report reports that Dubai has been able to turn from a place for the richest into an international destination for tourism and business.

Principles of World Best Cities 2021 Study

World Best Cities 2021 study refers to million-plus cities. When compiling the rating, the results of a survey of local residents are taken into account, as well as six large groups of criteria:

• Location;

* Amenities;

* Population;

* Prosperity;

* Entertainment industry;

* Promotion.

«Location». This group of criteria includes weather conditions, safety, availability of landscaping, as well as natural components. In the category of «Amenities», the availability of conference centers, cultural facilities, attractions, and the convenience of the location of airports were evaluated. The group of criteria «Population» assessed by the education of residents and the diversity of the national composition, and the ratio of income and the presence of unemployment fell into «Prosperity». Everything related to the accessibility of art, night rest, the restaurant sector and shopping turned out to be among the criteria of «Entertainment Industry». «Promotion» is everything related to mentions on the Internet: social networks, reviews, search queries, hashtags, and so on.

Dubai was awarded first place in two categories at once — «Place» and «Population».

Dubai is the best city for freelancers

Dubai has become one of the best places to live, but its high ranks do not end there. More recently, the city also received the title of one of the best places for freelancers and expats. According to the version of the aggregator Nestpick, the emirate won in three categories:

  • Expenses and developed infrastructure;
  • Law and freedom;
  • Life is convenient.

The combination of these criteria has made the city one of the best options for moving and remote work.

Dubai is the best for investment

In addition to all of the above, Dubai also got into the top of the best cities in the world for investment. According to CBRE analytical bureau and Henley & Partners index, Dubai is among the top ten cities in the world where investing in real estate brings the greatest profit. What’s more, Dubai is one of the best solutions for wealthy citizens who want to invest in real estate and at the same time get a residence permit

Another Dubai championship is the first place in the region in terms of competitiveness. In the global ratio, Center for Global Competitiveness puts Dubai in 9th  place according to this criterion, which is also a high indicator.

Switzerland took the first place in this rating in 2021. Australia and New Zealand were on the next lines. By the way, the countries located near the Persian Gulf also got into the top, but the UAE was ahead of it by a large margin: Bahrain is in 8th place, Qatar is in 10th.

Optimistic results of Expat Explorer 2021

In the latest study, most of the emigrants in the United Arab Emirates reported that they are optimistic about the future and believe that life in the country will normalize and stabilize within a year, despite the pandemic. This answer was given by 82% of respondents. This indicator is higher than the global value, which is at the level of 75%.

Besides, more than 50% of the surveyed emigrants in the UAE expect that their personal life and work balance will be restored.

According to Abdulfattah Sharaf, CEO of HSBC in the UAE, the country is becoming a priority among businessmen and high-level specialists due to the fact that the state is focused on introducing an innovative approach, developing infrastructure, improving the quality of life, and maintaining cultural and national diversity. The focus on inclusivity in all spheres also plays in favor of the UAE.

«The UAE’s entry into the TOP-5 best places to live and work becomes an inspiration and indicates the huge potential that drives the country’s economy», Sharaf reports.
