Samsung launches The Freestyle – a new portable screen offering a first-of-its-kind technology and versatility that enables consumers to enjoy optimal viewing and entertainment wherever they go.
The Freestyle, which is aimed at Gen Z and millennials and has since been sold out in other markets, is a lightweight, portable Smart TV that serves as a projector, smart speaker, and ambient lighting. The Freestyle weighs only 830 grams, making it easy to convert any space into a screen.
Unlike the conventional, boxy, and bulky projectors, The Freestyle’s adjustable cradle rotates up to 180-degrees, enabling users to display high-quality video anywhere without the need for a separate screen.
The Freestyle’s 180-degree design enables consumers to point, play and enjoy a large screen experience on a range of surfaces, from slanted walls, ceilings and outdoor surfaces. Even when the surface is skewed, the projector automatically adjusts the screen size, auto-focuses, and levels the image.
The Freestyle can project screens ranging from 30 to an incredible 100 inches in vibrant Full High-Definition resolution. It also gives users the flexibility to scale and adjust the screen in all directions with the capability to project content onto the ceiling without having to physically move the device, providing a home theatre experience for users at any space.
The device is integrated with Samsung Smart TV feature, which has built-in streaming services, mirroring, and casting capabilities for Android and iOS mobile devices. This enables consumers to easily access streaming apps, listen to their favourite playlists, and use Bixby voice assistant without manually uploading or connecting to other applications.
The Freestyle has a dual passive radiator that delivers a clean and deeper bass without distortion as well as 360-degree sound radiation for cinema-quality sound. Furthermore, its 5-watt woofer disperses sound waves in all directions, creating a truly immersive and cinematic audio experience.
The Freestyle allows you to roam freely due to its compatibility with external USB-connected battery banks of 50W/20V output or above. Users can easily and effortlessly plug and play anytime with the provided USB-C cable, whether they want to set up in a different part of the house, conduct study sessions, or host sleepovers.
When not in use as a projector for streaming content, the Freestyle’s ambient mode and translucent lens cap doubles as an ambient lighting effect. Users can choose patterns from lighting, prism, scenes or even their own photos, transforming their space into their desired environment.
Additionally, the Freestyle comes with a slew of compatible accessories to ensure that users are ready and equipped for any setting: a hard casing for outdoor usage and portability, as well as a flexible rubber cover available in 3 skin colours (Forest Green, Blossom Pink and Coyote Beige) for customising to fit your own style.
Users can also look forward to an upcoming Battery Base that allows users to charge the device at any time.
The Freestyle will be available for pre-order online only for $1,499 at the Samsung Online Store, major consumer electronics & IT stores including Best Denki, Courts, Gain City, Harvey Norman and online e-commerce channels such as Lazada and Shopee.
Customers who pre-ordered The Freestyle will receive a free Mazer 65-Watt portable battery worth $129.
The Freestyle will be officially launched on 23 February on Samsung Online Store and at Samsung authorised retailers and their respective online stores.
