Can’t decide between a Chinese-style seafood restaurant or Japanese sushi and sashimi for a celebration feast post-P2HA?
Tung Lok Seafood Restaurant at d’Arena (The Arena Country Club) offers the best of both worlds.
Traditional Chinese-style dishes like their signature Fish Head Steamboat are available on the menu, to be paired with snazzy Japanese sushi and sashimi creations from their in-house Douraku Sushi bar.
For those concerned about hygiene standards, you will be assured to learn that Tung Lok restaurants sterilise all their utensils and have them wrapped up at the table before guests arrive. A mask holder, sanitising wipes for both your hands and utensils are also provided.
I went for a meal there with my parents and my son. My parents love the traditional charcoal-fired fish head steamboat while my son, Asher, is a big fan of Japanese sushi and sashimi. Where else can you both of these cuisines offered at high quality and in the same location.
These were the dishes we sampled:
The charcoal-fired steamboat comes with sliced fish, live prawn skewer, handmade Fuzhou fishball, prawn paste served in bamboo tube, fried beancurd roll, Enoki mushroom, braised Barramundi roe and beancurd, stir-fried lala clam with spicy sambal sauce, fried prawn paste chicken wing and stir-fried Romaine lettuce with fermented beancurd.
You can top-up additional ingredient from there, including premium items like Live Australian lobster and Live geoduck which are charged at market prices.
The soup was rich and flavourful, further enhanced with the fresh seafood going into the hotpot for a clean, tasty meal that won’t leave you feeling bloated or greasy.
From Douraku Sushi, expect a mix of conventional sushi dishes as well as some fusion creations:
We particularly enjoyed the crispy wanton platter and the uni chawanmushi, with both dishes packing a little surprise from similar dishes at other restaurants with the artful pairing of flavours, enhanced by fresh, premium ingredients.
With dine-in at restaurants now open for vaccinated individuals in Singapore, Tung Lok Seafood Restaurant at The Arena Country Club would be a great venue to consider if you are looking to please diverse young and old taste buds.
