Premium Mixer brand Fever-Tree Debuts Lighter and Lower Calorie “Refreshingly Light” Tonic Water range in Singapore with four new variants

Global premium mixer brand, Fever-Tree, recently debuted a versatile new range of tonic waters crafted by blending naturally sourced ingredients and using fruit sugars for a lighter and lower-calorie serve.

Expanding its collection of high-end mixers, Fever-Tree added four new Refreshingly Light variants in Singapore of of the following best-selling tonics: Cucumber Tonic Water, Elderflower Tonic Water, Indian Tonic Water and Mediterranean Tonic Water.

The Refreshingly Light variants feature the same quality ingredients as with all Fever-Tree tonics, blended with quinine from the “fever-trees” of the Democratic Republic of Congo. From handpicked English elderflowers, to lemon thyme from Provence, France and bitter orange from the Yucatan province in Mexico, each of the ingredients is naturally sourced with no artificial colours or sweeteners added.

Fever-Tree’s new Refreshingly Light Elderflower Tonic Water, Indian Tonic Water and Mediterranean Tonic Water are available in Singapore in eight-pack (S$13.50) or 24-pack (S$39.90) cartons of 150ml cans. The Refreshingly Light Cucumber Tonic Water is available in a 500ml bottle (S$5.90) or 24-pack of 200ml bottles (S$43.50).

The versatile range pairs well with a variety of flavours, offering endless cocktail options simply using different spirits or garnishes in a traditional long drink. For the curious home bartender, Fever-Tree offers cocktail inspiration online with a flavour wheel and customised pairing guide based on preferred flavour profiles. Simple recipes are available to recreate at home, such as the Cucumber Garden Party, comprised of three parts Fever-Tree Refreshingly Light Cucumber and one part Tanqueray Gin mixed over ice in a copa glass,
garnished with a thin cucumber ribbon.

We tried the new range and found the Refreshingly Light range to pack the same zesty flavours as the original. In line with global health trend to cut down on the sugar level in beverages, the Refreshingly Light range brings Fever-Tree to be closer aligned with what other beverage giants like Coca-Cola are moving towards.

Fever-Tree’s new Refreshingly Light products are available for purchase in Singapore at top online retailers such as Cellarbration and FairPrice, as well as Cold Storage shops around Singapore.

Refreshingly Light Range Tasting Notes

Refreshingly Light Cucumber Tonic Water

Offering a delicate and fresh flavour, the light, crisp notes of cucumber essence are balanced with the gentle bitterness of Fever-Tree’s signature quinine from the fever trees of Eastern Congo. This new variant is blended with fruit sugar for 32% fewer calories than Fever-Tree Indian Tonic Water.

Taste

The light, crisp notes of cucumber essence is balanced with the soft bitterness of quinine. A clean and fresh finish with none of the cloying aftertaste you get from artificial sweeteners. The result is a balanced and crisp mixer, perfect for balmy summer days.

Key Ingredients

Fever-Tree’s Refreshingly Light Cucumber Tonic Water uses fructose (fruit sugars) to provide the traditional sweet balance to the bitterness of the quinine; to this, they added cucumber extract, creating a distinctively
fresh, summery taste.

Refreshingly Light Elderflower Tonic Water

By blending the essential oils from handpicked English elderflowers with quinine of the highest quality from the ‘fever trees’ of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Fever-Tree created a floral variation of their Indian tonic water.

Taste

The delicate and sweet flavour of elderflower is balanced by the soft bitterness of the quinine, which pairs perfectly with fresh and floral gins and premium vodkas.

Key Ingredients

Fever-Tree uses elderflower petals from the English countryside, which are picked at night when the flowers are most fragrant and then distilled into an oil that gives this tonic water a delicate floral sweetness. In the Refreshingly Light version, fructose (fruit sugars) is used to sweeten the drink.

Refreshingly Light Indian Tonic Water

Fever-Tree uses fruit sugars to develop their lighter tonic water. The blending of subtle botanical flavours with spring water and highest-quality quinine gives it the distinctively clean, crisp character of Indian Tonic Water, but with 46% fewer calories.

Taste

Fever-Tree’s Refreshingly Light Indian Tonic Water uses a handful of different botanicals, including their distinctive quinine and oils from Mexican Bitter Oranges, to give a uniquely clean and refreshing taste and aroma.

Key Ingredients

In 2004, looking to re-invigorate the mixer category, Fever-Tree founders Tim and Charles began trawling through history books and poring over maps to find sources of the very best ingredients, eventually travelling to the ends of the earth to get hold of them. Fever-Tree’s Indian Tonic Water still uses quinine from the forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo, found by Charles and Tim on one of their first trips. Their Refreshingly Light Indian Tonic Water uses fructose (fruit sugars) to provide the traditional sweet balance to the bitterness of the quinine.

Refreshingly Light Mediterranean Tonic Water

By blending the essential oils from herbs that Fever-Tree gathered from around the Mediterranean shores with highest-quality quinine from the ‘fever trees’ of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, they created this delicate, floral tonic water.

Taste

Fever=Tree uses less quinine in their Mediterranean Tonic which, with the addition of rosemary and lemon thyme, produces a much lighter, more fragrant tonic.

Key Ingredients

The rocky hillside farms of the Provence region of southern France benefit from the warm air flowing inland from the Mediterranean Sea, creating perfect growing conditions for hardy aromatic shrubs like lemon thyme. The well-drained soil and long, sun-filled days allow these plants to thrive and the flavours to deepen. In the
Refreshingly Light version, Fever-Tree use fructose (fruit sugars) to sweeten the drink.
