We have all come to accept that global travel is not going to come back anytime soon in the Covid-19 new normal. With the disappointment of being home-bound even as 2021 has just kicked off, Nespresso is inviting coffee lovers on a journey to travel the world through a cup of coffee.
Nespresso’s new World Explorations range builds on the popular Lungo collection and showcases distinct coffees inspired by the cities of Cape Town, Tokyo, Stockholm, Vienna, Shanghai and Buenos Aires.
World Explorations features two mild Lungos, Shanghai Lungos and Buenos Aires Lungo, complete with 4 other coffees that are more balanced or intense. Lungo refers to the Italian term for “long” and is the recommended way of preparing an espresso in a longer cup, while still retaining many aromatic taste componenets in the lengthier exttraction process.
Recognising China’s developed modern coffee scene, Nespresso’s Shanghai Lungo catures the emerging Asian coffee culture with a distinctive light roast blend that combines Kenyan, Chinese and Indonesian Arabicas.
In a nod to Argentina’s vibrant food scene where sweetness prevails, Nespresso’s Buenos Aires Lungo blends a gently roasted Colombian Arabica with Ugandan Robusta to deliver distinct cereal and sweet popcorn notes.
The Japanese enjoy a richer coffee with balanced, elegant aromas. Nespresso’s Tokyo Vivalto Lungo captures these preferences with refined Ethiopian and Mexican Arabicas that deliver a complex, floral cup with a hint of acidity.
Taken from Vienna’s coffeehouse traditon, Nespresso’s Vienna Linizio Lungo pays homage to the many recipes and smoothness of Viennese coffee, pairing sweet Brazilian and Colombian Arabicas, lightly roasted to enhance the malty and aromatic notes.
Nespresso’s Stockholm Fortissio Lungo recreates the aromatic profile of a Swedish coffee by coupling Monsooned Malabar with Colombian Arabica for an intense, sweet cup with a hint of bitterness.
Reflecting South Africa’s preference towards Asian coffees, which have shaped local tastes over time, Nespresso’s Cape Town Envivo Lungo blends Indian Arabica and Robusta to deliver an intense and full bodied Lungo with a punchy, bitter note and woodsy aroma.
To celebrate the launch of World Explorations in Singapore, Nespresso has collaborated with six different local chefs here to offer a unique menu inspired by a city from the range.
