It’s been some time post circuit breaker, many restaurants have re-opened their doors with fresh ideas and concepts. Likewise for Grissini at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, where the dedicated culinary team has re-crafted a menu featuring classic favorites with a twist as well as new creations. We review their highlights here.
To complement and elevate the flavors of your meal, take your pick from the condiments cart which offers an array of extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, truffle sea salt served tableside.
Begin your gastronomic journey with a complimentary daily selection of fresh bread made in-house paired with organic extra virgin oil and balsamic vinegar. We tried the sun dried tomatoes bread and herbs bread, both of which whetted our appetites and made us hungrier for what’s to follow.
Diners who love the bread can also take home and indulge in these artisanal loaves any time of the day in the comfort of your home!
Lovers of oysters, trust me when I say that you will not be doing yourself justice if you do not try this. The oysters are so big, fresh, and succulent- close your eyes and you may just find yourself momentarily transported to a seaside holiday. The dressing the oysters are bathing in- Tetsuya’s vinaigrette, shallot and chive, very nicely complements the natural umami of the oysters. Mamma mia… just so heavenly~
Beautifully soft and fresh burrata with tangy cheery tomatoes, olives and arugula. Another winning appetizer.
Blended only with the freshest mushrooms, this soup tastes deep, velvety, and of course, mushroom-y. It slides down the throat oh so smoothly, warming up the tummy for the main dishes to follow.
Whole seabream prepared tableside. Wonderfully fresh. Coupled with the Irish Oysters served as appetizer, pescatarians would be satisfied.
See the yellow stream drizzling down on the fish? That’s adding a touch of citrus to enhance the taste. Grissini takes care of the finer details.
Generous chunk of lobster with sauce of white wine, garlic and cherry tomatoes.
Time to refresh the palate with a lemony champagne sorbet.
For steak-lovers who adore the flavours and texture of Grissini’s josper-grilled signatures, indulge in the tomahawk steak (1-1.4kg, $188 per kg) that is grilled and smoked with apple wood in the Josper oven. It is an extravagant treat that is great for sharing.
A premium cut of beef, the beautifully marbled Australian Tajima Wagyu MS 5 is more than just visually satisfying; the tenderness and succulence of the meat makes for a hearty meal.
There’s always room for dessert, especially when it is moist tiramisu.
Last by not least, seal your dining experience on a theatrical note with the 64% chocolate mousse in chocolate sphere ($26 serves two persons). A delight for the senses to watch the hot dark chocolate sauce being poured over while the sphere melts down to a decadent pool of chocolate complemented with the refreshing red fruit compote.
