Say “Big Thanks” to all frontline heroes by purchasing McDonald’s Big Thanks Burger this 1 – 5 August

McDonald’s will pay a special tribute to our healthcare and frontline heroes by launching the “Big Thanks” initiative. The nationwide initiative is a way of recognising our frontline heroes for their courage, selflessness and dedication in helping the nation battle COVID-19.

From 1 to 5 August 2020, customers can join in the tribute by purchasing the “Big Thanks Burger” (Big Mac) at any McDonald’s restaurant as a way of saying a big “Thank You”. For every order of a “Big Thanks Burger” (Big Mac), a complimentary burger will then be donated to a frontline hero in the following weeks.

McDonald’s aims to donate over 25,000 “Big Thanks Burgers” to our heroes from organisations including the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), SCDF Emergency Medical Services (EMS), National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and Orange Valley Nursing Home.

Apart from healthcare heroes like doctors and nurses, these burgers will also be donated to other frontline heroes, including cleaners and administrative staff. The staff from selected organisations will be able to enjoy either a Big Mac or McSpicy or Filet-O-Fish burger.

In addition to purchasing the burgers, customers can share their messages of appreciation to our frontline heroes by simply taking a photo of their “Big Thanks Burger” and burger box, with a caption that expresses their gratitude and post it on their social media platforms tagging @mcdsg with the hashtag #mcdbigthanks.

The “Big Thanks” campaign is recognised by Eat for Good, a collaborative initiative by National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre’s (NVPC) Company of Good that aims to bring stakeholders in the F&B space together to make doing good a part of daily encounters.
