[Review] SOUL ST-XS2 High Performance Earphones with Bluetooth

There is a new audio brand in town – SOUL is here to up the beat.

Established in 2010, SOUL has expanded their global footprints into Singapore recently with its range of audio products, ranging from the most basic wired earphones to wireless bluetooth earphones. Renowned sound engineers and Grammy award winning artist Chris “Ludacris” Bridges created the first pair of SOUL headphones together with the SOUL team.

I tried out the SOUL ST-XS2, bluetooth earphones for urban sports, using it for my daily solitary jog during Singapore’s Circuit Breaker period.

Ergonomic Design

I really like the ergonomic C-shaped ear hook, unique to the SOUL ST-XS2. My ears are oddly shaped. They are missing an outer arch to hold together conventional earphones which tend to slip out easily, especially during exercises. As such, this is the best-fitting pair of wireless sports earphones for me to date.

In addition, the ST-XS2 also comes with various sizes of interchangeable eartips to ensure you get the best fit.

Weatherproof

Other than the hook, the ST-XS2 is also designed with IPX7 weatherproof protection and gets you moving with SOUL’s signature sound. It is both rain and sweat resistant, making it ideal for urban sports.

5-hour Audio with One Single Charge

Designed with Bluetooth 5.0 technology and AAC Codec, ST-XS2 is engineered to deliver sound continuously up to 5-hour, with one single charge. This is long enough to finish a full marathon.

Auto Pairing

The ST-XS2 also features auto pairing. Simply take out ST-XS2 from the charging box and it will connect automatically to your smartphone or other electronic devices via bluetooth almost instantaneously. We tried it on an iPhone, an Android phone and a laptop and it successfully paired in all instants.

Sleek and Beautiful Design

Each earpiece of ST-XS2 only weighs 5g, designed to be compact and sleek. The earphones come in a beautifully designed portable charging box, supported by USB Type-C fast charging, which can recharge the ST-XS2 up to 4 times and keeps you moving up to 25-hour on-the-go.

The charging box comes with a hook for you to easily attach it to your gym bag for outdoor activities.
