Temasek Trust launches S$10million oscar@sg fund to help communities affected by COVID-19

Temasek Trust launches the oscar@sg fund to support ground-up initiatives that respond to community needs in Singapore as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new oscar@sg fund will enable initiatives and ideas and empower our community to look out for one another in these crucial times of need. By encouraging and supporting ground-up movements, Temasek Trust hopes to advocate and catalyse positive community action by our people and emerge better and stronger together.

To be anchored by a S$10 million gift from Temasek, Temasek Trust will manage the oscar@sg fund to support projects that embrace the values of Ownership, Sustainability, Care, Assurance, Resilience (OSCAR). This programme will provide up to $5,000 of direct sponsorship, and further match a “dollar-for-dollar” of third-party funding sources of up to $50,000, with a provision to increase up to $100,000 in exceptional cases.

The oscar@sg fund has already attracted donations from corporate partners and individual philanthropists. Among them, Pavilion Capital and ABC World Asia rallied behind the cause and donated a further $1.7 million to the effort.

Individuals or groups of individuals can apply for the grant. Non-Profit Organisations registered with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) or the Registry of Societies (ROS) are also welcome to apply. Applicants to the fund must submit a workable implementation plan, with adequate risk consideration and impact accountability.

For more information on how to apply for the grant, visit here.

General public or corporate organisations who would like to contribute to this fund can send an email to Temasek Trust at enquiries@temasektrust.org.sg. The donation will go into the pool for the oscar@sg fund.
