Shake Shack Singapore to open in Central Business District in 2020 – snap a photo and win!

Shake Shack is bringing he(art) to Singapore’s Central Business District in a historic building at 89 Neil Road in the first quarter of 2020. The country’s second Shack is focused on art and design to complement the culturally rich neighbourhood of Tanjong Pagar.

New York’s iconic burger, hotdog and frozen custard stand are set to become a community hub in the vibrant neighbourhood, amongst the rich mix of restaurants, bars and nightlife. Besides its distinct location, the prominent standalone building from 1924 also has a rich history of its own and used to be the Eng Aun Tong factory where Singapore’s famous Tiger Balm was produced for close to 50 years.

Harkening back to its roots of supporting the arts and in keeping to its mission to Stand For Something Good, the second Shack continues to work with local purveyors and artists to create a fun and lively gathering place in the city.

Giving a first taste of what to expect at the design-driven Shack is the hoarding artwork by Singaporean artist Sam Lo. Inspired by the East and West connection that makes up Singapore’s contemporary identity, Sam blends Shake Shack’s icons with traditional Peranakan cultural patterns to herald the new home of the fine-casual restaurant.

Shack fans are invited to snap a pic with the insta-worthy hoarding design as the backdrop and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #shackARTintown. The best happy snap will win a collection of exclusive to 89 Neil Road swag.
