What’s New at Sake Festival Singapore

Visitors will exchange their tickets for wristbands which they will use to purchase sake bottles and food, after loading credits onto the wristbands (tasting of sake is complimentary as in previous years). A gift-credit of FIVE dollars will be provided on the first initial credit-load. Initial credit-load and subsequent top-ups can be done at conveniently placed stations within the event hall.

Refunds will be provided on credit balances remaining on the wristbands. All refunds will be given in the form of crossed cheques. The gift-value of $5 will be taken off the refund balance if the wristband has not been used at all to make purchases, at the point of refund. Refunds can only be made on the day of the festival before the event ends.

The beauty brand, KOSÉ, is among 5 new participating companies. Presenting their new skincare line made with kojic acid, KOSÉ looks forward to reaching out to consumers who know of the healthful benefits of koji fermented products; as in the case of sake.

In addition, four well-known Japanese restaurants will also be participating – YATAGARASU, NIRAI-KANAI, KAJIKEN and KAMOSHITA. They have been invited to join in this year after the organiser heeded requests from visitors for more food items to be made available at the festival.

NIRAI-KANAI will be showcasing their famous Okinawan cuisine through an Okinawa Soba. KAJIKEN will be selling popular festival bites such as Mazesoba, Karaage and Edamame. Of special note is YATAGARASU’s Wanko Soba Challenge. Priced at just $1 to join, selected participants (through ballot) can challenge themselves to eat as many bowls of the speciality soba from Iwate prefecture as they can, within a time limit set.
