ASUS today announces the new VivoBook 14 (Z403), a compact ultraportable with an overall weight of just 1.35kg, military-grade durability, and up to an incredible 24 hours of battery life.
The VivoBook 14 (Z403) has a 4-cell, 72Wh battery that provides up to an amazing 24 hours of battery life. Users can work anywhere without having to carry around a power adaptor.
The device is powered by an Intel Core i5-8265U processor with 8GB RAM, integrated graphics, Full HD display, and a 256GB SATA SSD. Battery tests conducted by ASUS in July 2018 using local video playback. Test settings were Wi-Fi enabled, display brightness set to 150nits, and volume at 50%. When the battery gets low, the integrated ASUS Battery Health Charging technology helps protect the battery from overcharging, prolonging its lifespan and reducing the chances of damage from swelling to keep it in tip-top condition.
Actual battery life may vary depending on product configuration, usage, operational conditions and power management settings and will decrease over the lifetime of the battery.
The VivoBook 14 (Z403) is extremely compact and portable, with a 16.5mm profile and overall weight of just 1.35kg.
Despite its compact and lightweight design, the VivoBook 14 (Z403) meets the demanding MIL-STD-810G military standard for durability and reliability, undergoing a test regime that includes operation in harsh environments such as extreme altitudes, temperature, and humidity.
The frameless four-sided NanoEdge display features a 4.1mm‑thin bezel and 87% screen‑to‑body ratio while leaving room up top for a built-in webcam.
The VivoBook 14 (Z403) has a 16:9 aspect ratio Full HD (1920×1080) display with wide viewing angles, and a matte anti-glare panel that helps reduce distractions from unwanted glare and reflections. It also features ASUS Tru2Life technology and the intelligent algorithms improve image contrast by 150%, sharpening details and delivering the best visual experience.
The VivoBook 14 (Z403) is powered by an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with 8GB RAM, and a 512GB PCIe SSD for smooth multitasking performance. It also features dual‑band Wi‑Fi 5 (802.11ac) for fast online performance.
A built-in fingerprint sensor in the touchpad is available for easier and more secure access to the device. With Windows Hello, there is no need to type in a password every time when logging in — a single touch is all it takes.
The full-sized backlit keyboard is perfect for working in dim environments. It is ergonomically designed with sturdy, one‑piece construction and 1.4mm key travel.
The ASUS VivoBook 14 (Z403) is now retailing at $1,598 at all ASUS Brand Shop and all authorised retailers.
