Tiawanese-inspired Night Market Shilin Singapore to feature 300 pop-up stores at Singapore Turf Club

This April, Shilin Night Market concept, Shilin Singapore, will finally be at our doorstep. Happening over two weekends, from April 19 to 21 and April 26 to 28, the night market will be held at The Grounds@Kranji at Singapore Turf Club.

Spanning across an event space of 200,000 square feet, the night market will feature over 300 Taiwanese and local food and beverage, artisanal products retailers and partners. With a seating capacity of 3,000 across five dining zones, visitors will be able to partake in revelries while enjoying iconic Taiwanese street food and beverages like chicken chop and bubble tea.

Shilin Singapore promises a feast for the five senses with its multisensory theme of “Eat, Shop, Play, Fun”. Over the two weekends, the event is expected to draw more than 300,000 visitors with its wide selection of food, fashion, lifestyle and design goods, interactive arcade games, KTV booths, live music performances as well as massive lantern installations.

The vendors across each weekend will be different. Organiser Invade also aims to infuse uniquely Singaporean flavours to the Night Market by introducing artisanal offerings by local entrepreneurs, makers and creators.

Eat

Hot Star will be introducing a new Mala-flavoured chicken chop, Kazo will be teasing tastebuds with two special cream puff flavours, and ChiaTe Bakery will be bringing the baked pineapple tarts to Shilin Singapore.

Gong Cha, the leading authentic bubble tea brand from Taiwan will be debuting their Bubble Tea Funhouse where fans can create their own concoction of the iconic drink with the unique flavours, toppings and colours available. In addition, the Taiwanese bubble tea brand will also be launching an exciting line of beverage in collaboration with an iconic pop culture artist.

Popular whisky brand, Jim Beam, will have a visually captivating pop-up bar serving uberfizzy Jim Beam highballs in an array of flavours. Singaporean food influencer MissTamChiak will also be setting up a stall named Chiak Liang to sell the famous peanut ice-cream rolls from Taiwan.

Shop

Shilin Singapore will be introducing famous artisanal Taiwanese brands such as Penguin Hand, MIHER and MOOD who are in the accessory, fragrance and shoe cleaning trade respectively. Visitors can swing by MOOD’s booth for a complimentary shoe cleaning express service.

Amusse and Cocoonese are retailing handmade pouches and bags made from eco-friendly materials. Klook seeks to delight visitors of Shilin Singapore with travel essentials such as shuttle bus passes to Jiufen packaged creatively into food items. Visitors are encouraged to strike a pose, snap and share the pictures taken with the travel essentials to stand a chance to win a trip to Taiwan.

Play

Relive your childhood memories and unwind with 60 arcade gaming booths, including human claw machines and carnival games presented by The Arcade People. There will be eight KTV booths by POWER K, self-service karaoke booth chain, and open-mic sessions on both weekends.

For believers of divination, visit the fortune teller booths by the main stage to take a peek into the future, and hang wishes onto lanterns at the Make-A-Wish work-stop.

Fun

Performances by local band and singers ‘Too Much Drama’, Ruth Kueo and Yokez, will keep the visitors company through the night.

The event’s ground will be dotted with plenty of Instagram-worthy photo spots such as the 10,000 square feet lighted windmill forest by Lanternfest Creative, and the Streets of Taiwan art mural wall illustrated by Taiwan-based mural artist, Debby Lin.

Movie buffs are in for a treat as local movie application, Popcorn Singapore, will be screening all-time movie favourites from 6 PM each day.

Getting to Shilin Singapore

Shilin Singapore will be held at The Grounds@Kranji, Carpark B at Singapore Turf Club on both weekends from 3 PM – 11 PM. The event is easily accessible from Kranji MRT station.

All retailers will be accepting payments in cash, contactless and cashless modes. From 15 March 2019, shuttle bus services will also be available via the Klook app at $3.20/pax (one-way).
