Oatmeal Bath!
Oatmeal baths are great for soothing itches, burns, and sunburns. Inexpensive and natural, oatmeal is also known to offer relief from eczema. Pour a cup of blended uncooked oatmeal (instant oatmeal works too) into your bathtub after filling it with water. Soak in the tub for 15 to 20 minutes and you’re good!
It’s That Time Of The Month Or Day
Headaches and cramps suck, and oatmeal is a quick fix for that irritating pain. Cool the cooked oatmeal slightly and put it in a ziplock bag. This is optional, but you may add your favourite essential oils to the oatmeal (e.g lavender). Put the ziplock bag inside a cloth pouch and gently apply some pressure on your desired spot. This remedy is perfect for menstrual cramps, headaches or bruises.
Sunset In A Jar
This is a fun and inexpensive way to have a little art and craft sesh with your loved ones. Prepare 5 portions of oatmeal and food colouring in yellow, pink, orange purple and blue. Dye each portion with a colour. Lastly, have fun layering your jar with oatmeal dyed in colours of your choice. Aww, what a sweet momento!
Glue ‘n’ Pics
Acquire a thick sheet of paper that’s to your liking. Manoeuvre a bottle of white glue to the best of your ability and draw a picture on that thick sheet of paper. Then make it rain with the oatmeal flakes over the sheet. Shake off the extra oatmeal flakes and voila! Colour it up by adding food dyes into portions of oatmeal. Now you can pin up your child’s cute artwork on that corkboard.
A Fulfilling Meal
Blended oatmeal has the ability to thicken soups and stews. If you want to save up and/or create a delicious meal for your loved ones, including oatmeal into dishes is a great way to start. Thickening soups with oatmeal are way more wholesome and healthier as compared to using cornstarch and cream to not only achieve the same rich and creamy consistency but also to further enhance the nutritious value of soups!
Who knew that one of the healthiest grains on earth, oats, could contribute to interesting dishes and, fun art and craft ideas? Aside from all that, oats are really, really family-friendly. Get down and healthy (and artsy) with Quaker’s oats that are jam-packed with nutrients!
