Netflix and SOSD presents Netflix and Woof adoption drive!

On 28 April, Netflix and the Society of Street Dogs Singapore (SOSD) jointly organized a dog adoption drive and movie screening, Netflix and Woof. The event was conducted at Tanjong Rhu and involved Netflix staff, SOSD volunteers and dog owners (both current and potential!).

There were also several posters and signs displayed around educating visitors on how they can best enjoy binge-watching shows with their pets.

Netflix recommended shows that owners could watch and even shared some interesting facts on how owners adjust their behaviour to make their pets more comfortable!

Visitors of the event were introduced to the different dogs up for adoption by volunteers. They interacted with the dogs and got to know them, and many even considered bringing these dogs home. The dogs were fitted with “Adopt Me!” bandanas and collars and they did tricks for excited visitors who offered them treats! Some were even thoughtfully labelled “HDB-adopted” and these were dogs who would be comfortable in smaller apartments under the law.

Cuties!

Several dog owners also brought their dogs to join in the fun and they got to take photos at an adorable photo booth. Children were delighted by the various breeds of dogs at the event and could be seen having fun feeding and petting them. The event certainly was a great opportunity for dog lovers of all ages to get together for a fun evening with the pets!

Other highlights of the event include a booth where dog owners could get a caricature with their dog or pick up some gourmet dog food.

The event ended off light-heartedly with a screening of the Netflix Original movie, Benji, under the stars. Guests who signed up for the event received a Netflix and Woof goodie bag that included a picnic mat, a food bowl and chew toy for pets and a three-month Netflix subscription with a minimum donation of $15 to SOSD.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from SOSD, you can visit their website for more information. If you are a pet owner, you may also want to consider binge-watching Netflix shows with your beloved pet after this event!
