Garmin Singapore seeks to introduce a new way to promote an active lifestyle for kids with the launch of the new Garmin vivofit jr. 2.
Vivofit jr. 2 is an activity tracker that features your kids’ favourite animated characters including BB-8, Minnie Mouse, and MARVEL’s Hulk and Captain America. While modern-day children spend the rest of their day browsing the web and playing apps in their gadgets, vivofit jr. 2 band encourages children to be active and shaping their habits for a healthy and fit childhood.
Each band is equipped with a corresponding mobile app adventure. Children can take on quests and complete missions to take on more missions. They can also unlock new character step icons. Parents can also assist their children and achieve at least 60 minutes of activity every day.
“The vívofit jr. 2 is all about making fitness fun for kids, instilling at a young age the joy of leading an active lifestyle,” said Mr Engelhard (Al) Sundoro, Managing Director, Garmin South Asia. “We are honoured to team up in such a unique way with Disney, tapping into the brilliance of their creative storytelling experts.
Through collaborating across the brands of Disney, Star Wars and Marvel and infusing their characters and stories into the bands, Garmin can offer kids and their parents a unique approach to fitness like no other.
The band is designed for all-day wearability and comfort. The screen shows the time, date, and reminds kids to stay active with a moving bar. Parents can monitor their children’s daily activities through a free companion app. The app will help remind the parents and assign chores and homework.
Vivofit jr. 2 is available at SGD 149 and SGD 45 for each additional band starting 20 December 2017.
Garmin has pioneered new GPS navigation and wireless devices and applications that are designed for people who live an active lifestyle. For more information, visit Garmin’s virtual pressroom.
