As we all know it, the festive season is synonymous with indulging in a sumptuous spread of delicacies and desserts.
Well, this Christmas, Sofitel dials it up by adding a contemporary twist to classic Christmas delights.
Foodies can be sure to expect nothing short of culinary finesse at all of its three restaurants – Kwee Zeen and ilLido at the Cliff at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa as well as Xperience at SO Sofitel Singapore.
Each restaurant strikes a balance between holiday classics and contemporary creations with specially crafted menus, led by Executive Chef Bertrand Valegeas. The Christmas menus are available on both 24 and 25 December 2017, whereas the New Year’s Eve menu is available on 31 December 2017.
Here’s what you won’t want to miss out this holiday season.
For the entire month of December, diners can look forward to indulge in a festive lunch set menu at Xperience in SO Sofitel Singapore. Diners will also be able to choose from having an express 2-course or an executive 3-course meal for flexibility.
On 24 and 25 December, diners will be able to revel in a specially curated Christmas lunch and dinner menu. As you find yourself in the thick of all the festive action, one dish you have to try in the Christmas lunch set is the Beet Risotto. It is simply a breath of fresh air as compared to the usual risotto we are familiar with.
This quintessential Italian rice dish shines especially with the thick consistency of the beet purée, which is in the least bit overpowering while enhancing the savoury taste of the risotto even more.
The medley of flavours from the beet taste, goat cheese crumble and confit cauliflower certainly spiced up a classic Christmas dish, particularly with more texture and varying layers of taste.
Festive favourites such as Beef Wellington, Grilled Christmas Pork Shoulder Ham and Roasted Herb-crusted Dorper Lamb Rack will also be made available for the ultimate indulgence. The gourmet experience doesn’t just end here.
Diners can also look forward to Xperience’s signature Christmas Log Cake and Warm Christmas Pudding, especially for those who have a soft spot for desserts.
Other dishes you can expect are in the likes of Angus Ribeye with Duck Fat-roasted Baby Potato, Breaded Portobello stuffed with Chestnut, Gouda Cheese, Wild Rocket and Aged Balsamic, and Warm Christmas Pudding with Brandy Custard.
At Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, Christmas revellers will find that ilLido at the Cliff offers way beyond a gourmand’s meal.
Diners in the riveting restaurant are in for a treat as they can enjoy a stellar spread of exquisite cuisine, while being enamoured with the splendid view of the South China Sea at the same time.
The 5-course Christmas dinner menu here is specially curated by Chef De Cuisine Simone Fraternali, and the menu features a special selection of creative contemporary treats.
Some of the star dishes are Red Prawn Tartare with Sea Urchin Hollandaise and Caviar, Black Squid Ink Tonnarelli with Razor Clams and Amalfi Lemon and more.
If you have a penchant for squid ink pasta, then this Christmas dish is right up your alley. You simply can’t say no to Black Squid Ink Tonnarelli with Razor Clams and Amalfi Lemon, especially with the silky smooth texture of the tonnarelli.
The palatable flavours from the Razor Clams and Amalfi Lemon not only further stimulate your appetite with its savoury taste, there are subtle hints of zest you can distinctively taste in this dish.
As for fish lovers, the Herbs Crusted Roasted Cod with Chanterelle Mushroom and Saffron Jus is bound to take centrestage with the soft and umami taste of the cod that is done just right. The Saffron Jus used here also lends a subtle touch of tanginess to this savoury dish, whihc we simply cannot get enough of.
Aside that, families looking for a gastronomic experience during Christmas Day will rejoice upon knowing that the brunch menu at ilLido at the Cliff offers selection of appetisers that is ideal for sharing.
The appetisers include Burrata Cheese with Avocado and Trout Caviar and Hokkaido Scallop with Butternut, which are then followed by mouthwatering mains such as Squid Ink Strozzapreti with Crab and Sea Urchin Sauce and Pappardelle with Wagyu Beef Cheek Ragout.
The unrivalled Christmas brunch then ends on a sweet note with an array of decadent delights such as the signature ilLido Tiramisu, Chocolate and Hazelnut Mousse and Strawberry and Pistachio Tart.
Kwee Zeen also offers a spectacular line-up of Christmas classics in the likes of Homemade Grilled Foie Gras Terrine with Black Truffle, Slow-roasted Beef Tomahawk, Traditional Roasted Turkey and Baked Leg of Ham with Apple Sauce.

For those with a sweet tooth, you will relish the wide-ranging selection of sweet treats, pastries and confectionery beautifully adorning a whimsical Christmas village complete with a model train set for the hallmark Christmas touch at ilLido‘s Christmas Dessert Wonderland.
Christmas Dessert Wonderland is open exclusively to Kwee Zeen and ilLido at the Cliff‘s diners on 24, 25 and 31 December only.
Not forgetting another massive celebration of the year – New Year’s Eve, diners can usher in a spanking new year at Kwee Zeen, ilLido at the Cliff and the hotel’s chic LeBar with the much-anticipated Mega Countdown Dinner Buffet the three have put together.
This unparalleled feast boasts of a gourmand experience that is bound to tantalise the tastebuds of even the most discerning out of all diners. It is easily done so with fine cuisine such as Pan-fried Foie Gras and Herb-roasted Pig on a Spit at Kwee Zeen, before relishing exquisite Italian cuisine such as Seafood Risotto with Vodka Cream and Black Truffle Pizza at ilLido.
