The weirdest national costumes from the Miss Universe and Miss World pageants

Whether you like pageants or not, you cannot discount the artistry, talent and ingenuity that goes into making those national costumes. Not only do the creators have to work with non-traditional materials, they also have to make it look good, speak loudly about the culture and be all about #concept.

But some designers may have taken the idea a bit too far–or to places we find quite amusing. Check them out:

Gotta hand it to her train handlers.

Whatever you think of this costume, she’s working that front-piece like nothing else.

Catholics were not sure if we’re going to clap or pray.
