The newest and most innovative Norwegian Cruise Line’s ship has sailed into Singapore waters.
Norwegian Joy, one of the largest cruise ships ever built, is on her way to Hong Kong and then Shanghai, which together with Tianjin near Beijing will be her homeports when she commences operations at the end of June. Singapore is the first port of call in Asia for the brand new ship after she left the shipyard in where she was completed last month in Germany.
Norwegian Joy is a 167,725-ton Breakaway Class vessel which was engineered at Meyer Werft in Germany and accommodates up to 3,883 guests. This makes it the fourth largest cruise ship in the world.
Norwegian Joy offers possibly most extensive range of restaurants ever offered on any cruise ship. Prepare to indulge in 28 different food and beverage outlets on board, from Chinese hot pot, to sophisticated French haute cuisine, the freshest Japanese sushi to highest quality American steaks and burgers.
Guests will have endless entertainment options during their cruise experience, such as the first ever racetrack at sea. The two-level competitive racetrack is located on the top deck of the ship, where guests may take rides in electric go-carts. The ship also includes an open-air laser tag course, thrilling simulator rides and interactive video walls at the Galaxy Pavilion as well as hover craft bumper cars, a state-of-the-art racing simulator and two multi-story waterslides.
The ship will be offering year-round short itineraries, ideal for Asian guests looking for a quick getaway, usually of 3 to 5 days.
Norwegian Joy includes the cruise line’s signature The Haven by Norwegian®, an exclusive, ship-within-a-ship premium accommodation complex with its own private club facilities, staterooms designed specifically for families travelling together featuring a multitude of inter-connecting rooms, as well as an array of mini-suite, balcony, ocean view and interior staterooms.
Recently, the game-changing line in cruise travel was named “Europe’s Leading Cruise Line” for the ninth consecutive year, as well as “Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Line” for the fourth time and “World’s Leading Large Ship Cruise Line” for the fifth straight year by the World Travel Awards. As it enjoys its top ranking in the cruise industry, Norwegian will be introducing two new “Breakaway Plus” Class cruise ships through 2019.
