The upcoming Apple Store at Orchard Road’s Knightsbridge mall in Singapore as seen on May 4, 2017.
Apple fans, rejoice. The big unveil of Apple Store in Singapore and the first in Southeast Asia nears as the barricades outside the store at Knightsbridge Mall in Orchard Road were taken down on Wednesday night (May 3).
Officially known as Apple Orchard Road, the temporary facade now features three red icons – the Apple logo, a heart and a red dot, referencing the tech giant’s love for Singapore. In emoji language, it reads “Apple Loves the Little Red Dot”.
Accompanying the main icons are 12 smaller icons on the facade. Each group refers to the works of 12 different local artists who will be conducting a series of educational sessions, according to media reports. Some of them include illustrator Kristal Melson and motorsports presenter and Singapore’s only woman race car driver Claire Jedrek.
While it remains unclear when exactly Apple Orchard Road store will open, a CNBC report said the official opening would be on May 22 citing unnamed sources.
