This year, travellers can rejoice at the abundance of long weekends due to Labour Day, Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Raya Haji and Christmas, opening up multiple possibilities for three-day breaks without having to take any annual leave Travellers looking for longer getaways also can take advantage of Vesak Day, National Day and Deepavali – which all fall on Wednesdays this year – to enjoy five day breaks, using just two days of annual leave.

Jakarta is typically one of the cheapest destinations across the various public holidays, followed by Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur. Bargains to Vientiane and Phuket are typically harder to come by and are more wallet-friendly over the longer, five-day getaways.
