Remember that time you threw a tantrum in the middle of a theme park, or cried non- stop during a flight? Your parents sure do.

But it seems like children are quick to forget these stressful holiday experiences, with family getaways becoming a distant memory by the time they reach adulthood themselves. In a recent survey by Jetstar, 84 per cent of respondents said they had stopped going on holidays with their parents by the age of 30. Yet, 95 per cent of respondents also wished for their parents to travel more frequently.

Now, Jetstar wants to give you the opportunity to thank your parents with a holiday they truly deserve, and to repay them for all that they had to put up with over the years.

Jetstar’s “Parents Fly Free*” promotion that will go on sale from 6 to 10 April will be the perfect reason to revisit the idea of the family holiday once more.

During this promotion, for every booking of two passengers travelling together, a starter Economy fare will apply to the first passenger, with the second passenger paying only taxes and fees.

What does this mean for you? It means that it’s pretty soon before you fly out with your parents with such an attractive deal. A total of 21 destinations will be on sale, from as low as $70 all-inclusive for two people travelling together.

Still thinking about what to buy your parents for Mother’s Day (14 May) and Father’s Day (18 June)? Shhh… We won’t tell them it was free*, if you don’t.
