Poulét Restaurants’ Menu Additions and Valentine’s Day Surprises

Best known for their roast chicken, contemporary French-themed Poulét restaurants recently introduced a couple of new items into their menu, including another chicken dish.

Glazed and set in a citrus base with a hint of thyme, Poulét ala Orange (S$17.80/half; S$30.80/whole) is served on a bed of sautéed purple cabbage and streaky bacon:

Another two new additions to Poulét’s current assemble are their house’ play of potatoes; Hachi Parmentier (S$7.90), a hot baked dish consisting of braised oxtail, tomato fondue and mashed potato gratin and Truffle Mashed Potato (S$5.80):

Hachi Parmentier
Dig in
This is not just any plain old mashed potatoes, there are truffles in it

For dessert, there is the new, classic Crème Brulee (S$8.80), caramelized sugar on smooth egg custard infused with Tahiti vanilla pod:

These new menu additions are available at all Poulét restaurants in Singapore.

Personally, I like the the two sides better than the new chicken main which I found a little too sweet. The originals work better for me as I am not a fan of sweet food.

The Truffle Mashed Potatoes was particularly satisfying and offers something different from the usual Truffle Fries. At just S$5.80 a portion, it is a great add-on either for sharing or to serve one.

Two other items Rachel and I had:

Poulet’s Braised Iberico Pork Belly (S$15.80) – a favourite of mine on their menu
Creamy mushroom soup

In addition, with Valentine’s Day just round the corner, the marketing team at Poulét has some interesting promotions up their sleeves.

Instead of just having Valentine’s Day set menus like most other restaurants, Poulét will be giving away jars of complimentary tiramisus!

The Tiramisu is available on the menu at S$7.80 and is made with Mascarpone Cheese, Sponge Finger soaked in Espresso and Rum Syrup. The presentation is lovely and it is delicious too:

To get the tiramisus, couples have to exchange for it with a French kiss while dining in the restaurant from 14th to 16th February 2014. Watch this video for demonstrations:

There’s more good stuff.

During Valentine’s Day and the weekend which follows, Poulet invites customers to take photos of themselves and upload them online with the hashtag, #pouletsg.

The photo with the most ‘Likes’ on Facebook will walk away with a pair of return tickets to Paris. The next 4 highest ‘Likes’ will also receive a S$50 Poulet Dining Voucher each!

More details on the new menu items and Poulet’s Valentine’s Day promotions are available on their official website and facebook page.
