Panasonic Fun Learning Workshop 2 – Eco Crafts for You and Your Lil’ One!

As part of the lead-up programs to the Singapore Blog Awards 2012 award ceremony on 21 July, omy.sg organised a series of fun learning workshops for everyone, together with presenting sponsor, Panasonic.

The first workshop on 26 May was a photography workshop with bloggers, Jerome Lim and Christine Ng sharing tips on photography as well as insights on effective story-telling through images.

Panasonic Fun Learning Workshop 2

The second workshop took place at Fullhouse Cafe Singapore on 16 June and was hosted by blogger and actress, Joanne-Marie Sim. Attendees were parent-child pairs who came to try out some hand-ons eco craft while educating the children on the importance of being eco-friendly.

At the workshop, attendees learn how to make a cushion pillow from an old tee-shirt; a dish made from magazine pages; and a pencil holder/ flower pot from old socks.

Here are some of the event photos:

I had fun watching the children exercise their creativity when completing their various eco crafts. When my baby son Asher is older, I will love to teach him how to make a cushion pillow from his old tee-shirt too.

Everyone, both young and old left the workshop with a big smile on their faces and a bag full of self-made items to bring home. The little ones also learn a bit more on caring for the environment – a small step towards a greener tomorrow.

Did I mention that this workshop is completely FREE? This is all thanks to the generous sponsorship of Panasonic.

There will be one last workshop featuring a cooking demonstration by food bloggers Daniel Ang and Maureen Ow. Due to overwhelming response, registration is already closed.

Nonetheless, stay tuned to omy.sg for other interesting updates and more such exciting events. 🙂
