If these 44 men had patronised one of those “legal” prostitution den in Geylang, they would not have committed any crime.
Yes, visiting prostitutes is something immoral, but it is not a cardinal sin like rape or murder.
These 44 men seems to have fallen in one swoop because they have all engaged the same service of an underage prostitute in a busted online sex ring.
Careers will be ruined and families broken because of this incident.
Sad isn’t it?
One girl was all it take to ruin 44 lives.

Here’s a link to the omy.sg video “starring” a few of the 44 horny men as they appeared in court today. One ran all the way to avoid journalists and photographers while another accidentally shoved a member of the media onto the floor. All look sheepish, shamed and jaded.

you're very evil
44 unlucky numbers .......
"Yes, visiting prostitutes is something immoral, but it is not a cardinal sin like rape or murder."
Doesn't help that you are actively contributing in shaming them. And no, saying that "the information is available online anyway" doesn't help. Say all you want, but you are just using their downfall increase your readership. Do you think that's right or are these right values to show your son? There's something called retribution, especially when you pelt rocks at people when they are down. When that time comes, think back on this article.
Thanks for sharing. Both the men and the girl are at fault.
@jason @weilie: I am evil, I like to "actively contributing in shaming people", I "use others' downfalls to increase my readership", I deserve retribution, I "pelt rocks at people when they are down".Thanks and noted.
In the Korean movie "Chaser" the villain kills the young women he abducts by driving a chisel through their heads. His choice of murder weapon is directly linked to his medical condition; he's impotent and the penetration of the chisel into his victims' bodies is a proxy for penetration with his penis, something he yearns for but is unable to experience. One cannot help but suspect Alvin's reason for contributing to the shaming of these men runs along the same thread ie. he's impotent and therefore bitterly envious of these guys, or he's married/attached to a woman as fat & ugly as himself and therefore any news of other guys bedding hot girls fills him with vengeful rage
@kay: Now I am fat, ugly, filled with "vengeful rage". I am also impotent and "bitterly envious". Married/attached to a woman as fat and ugly as me. LOL. Thanks and noted.
You're very welcome
Hi Alvin, I find your blog very informative and candid. Keep up the good work in sharing your thoughts. I have 2 boys, 18 and 11 years. As a mother, I teach them as well as I can. When they're grown, they will have to choose their own path. I can just hope that they will choose wisely. My brother left his family a year ago for a younger woman. He admitted that he is at fault and that he has done wrong but he is not remorseful. He is now living in a rented place with his mistress while his wife and 2 sons, 14 and 11 years fend for themselves elsewhere. His wife, my sister-in-law, have been a housewife for the last 14 years. Now, she will have to go and work so that she can care for her sons. My advise to her is to find a job and do what is best for herself and her children and that we will support and help as much as we can. She has lost so much weight and as much as she tries to appear cheerful, I know it is not an easy journey for her, nor for my nephews. As a society, we have certain values to uphold, and actions will always speak louder than words. Nobody is perfect. Everyone have their strengths and weaknesses, ups and downs. It is important to know your weakness and avoid succumbing to it if you know it will hurt your family and loved ones. Many Singaporeans have lost their "Kampung Spirit" and do not think with their "Heart" anymore. Yesterday, my car had a tyre puncture at AMK. While waiting for the tow truck, an Indian man on a motorcycle stopped and asked if he could help to change the car tyre for me. When I told him that I already called for a tow truck, he said, no need, it is very expensive. I thanked him but told him that the tow truck should be here soon. I then asked him where he's off to. He said he's going home to JB. And that he is from Penang.
When my elder son was in Secondary 2 in a neighbourhood school, he received random text messages from people asking if he would like to have sex with women. When I called one of his teachers about this, I was told that it is very common for kids to check out porno sites etc and that it is part of growing up. Not what I wanted to hear. Complacency in schools is worrying.
It also worries me that gaming is becoming more violent and sexually explicit and that more children are becoming over exposed to the internet without proper guidance and supervision from educators and parents. What will become of them?
Thank you Alvin... and you have a beautiful wife. All the Best!
Thanks for the kind words CT. :)
