Remember my Photography Fun at Little India and Merlion Park with the New Nikon 1 J1 blog post?
There’s an aftermath.
Nikon has just launched a snazzy website to market the new Nikon 1 in Asia and Alvinology is one of the featured “motion hero” for Singapore!
Other than Singaporean bloggers, the website also features bloggers/ motion heroes from Taiwan and Hong Kong.
What is a Nikon 1 Motion Hero?
According to Nikon:
Motion Heroes are always ready to capture the world in a whole new way, creating incredible photos powered by imagination. With the Nikon 1’s blazing fast auto-focus and continuous shooting capabilities, you can turn simple motions into breathtaking images. See our Motion Heroes in action and be inspired.
When Nikon asked me for a statement on what being a Motion Hero means to me, this is what I replied:
“By not taking arrows to my knee. I can be a legend with Nikon J1. The motion sensor can detect flying arrows.”
It was a little tongue-in-cheek, particularly with regards to the Skyrim reference. The motion sensor is really powerful though; no joke.
Nikon 1 cameras are equipped with the world’s fastest autofocus and the most focus points in the world.
Yes, they can really capture flying arrows in motion!
The phase-detection AF embedded in the newly developed sensor will track and capture fast-moving subjects in sharp, crystal-clear focus while the focal plane phase-detection AF with the world’s widest area coverage of 73 points recognises the moving subject as a plane to ensure that images are captured accurately.
You will see on the website, many amazing motion photos and videos taken using Nikon 1 cameras, in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. Here are some samples featuring the PK Girls from Taiwan:
