HTC’s “All I Need is My Desire!” Glass House Challenge – Bloggers’ Amazing Race with Contestants

Last Sunday, I was down at VivoCity together with a five bloggers, Estelle, Sharon, Jiaqi, Yong Wei and Jacqualine for a surprise bloggers’ round in the HTC’s “All I Need is My Desire!” Glass House Challenge.

20 participants were selected to be kept under “house arrest” within the Glass House for the 3-Day duration (15 to 17 April) of the challenge while attempting to complete a series of tasks and challenges solely with the aid of a HTC smartphone.

Participants of the “All I Need Is My Desire!” Glass House Challenge won for themselves attractive prizes, including cash and HTC Desire S sets.

None of the bloggers or me knew what was going to happen, except that it involves a car and the event will run from 2.30pm to 6pm. The five bloggers were all there in the name of fun.

When it was revealed that they were going to embark on an amazing race like competition, paired with 4 contestants each, driving around Singapore, some like Jacqualine and Jiaqi regretted coming all dolled up in heels.

Nonetheless, all of them gamely finished the tasks, running their lungs out.

While the five bloggers and the 20 contestants were running all over Singapore, I met up with another fellow blogger, Calvin Timothy who had specially came down to support the other bloggers and the HTC event. We had a late lunch and shopped around for a while, waiting for the other bloggers to return, checking their competition status via Twitter.

The eventual winning team in this round was the team paired with Jacqualine. She won a HTC Desire S phone together with the rest of her teammates.

Yong Wei’s group came in last btw, even though he was the only male blogger among the five. See how exhausted he looked when he arrived back at the HTC Glass House:

Running from 15-17 April 2011 (last Friday to Sunday) at VivoCity Central Court B atrium, shoppers got to indulge in a multi-sensory interactive showcase of HTC’s latest products and services stationed at the elaborately erected HTC ‘Glass House’ showcase area.
