This came in the mail yesterday – a couple of “Baby On Board!” badges issued by London Underground.
They were sent to us with love by our friend, Melvin Ryan Tan from London.
“Here in London, there’s this initiative by the London Underground for expectant mothers to wear these badges (especially during winter time when people wear big coats) to identify themselves as pregnant and needing a seat. I requested some for you (referring to Rachel) and hopefully if you wear them in Singapore, you might cause a new initiative to be launched!” Wrote Melvin in his letter.
Frankly, I think this badges are an awfully good idea. The Public Transport Council (PTC) or SMRT should consider launching a similar initiative in Singapore.

It seems like I should congratulate you & your wife then ;) You are going to be parents!
Congratulations!
Thank you, TT!
On another note about Alvin's blog entry - I look more obviously pregnant now but seated commuters are still dozing off just when I appear in front of them. Heh heh.
Great Idea! It has been difficult for me to distinguish if the women is just simply plump or pregnant .. especially in the early stage of their pregnancy!
