Ximending (西门町) @ VivoCity

Inside Ximending Restaurant

Rachel and I had a quick meal at Ximending (西门町) Restaurant at VivoCity a few months back. As the name of the restaurant suggests, they specialise in Taiwanese fine cuisine. We were rushing off to another place and hence did not order much.

In fact, we just ordered a two person portion of their  Cai Por (preserved radish) Fried Rice and a Mexican mushroom chicken soup to share. Both were delightful to wolf down, but the soup serving was extremely puny for $12.

The bill came to around S$40 with GST and service charge for two pax. We felt it was a little steep as we only ordered two items. They also do not serve plain water and the tea on their menu is only available at $10 per pot.

Maybe the restaurant is not catered for single or couple dining, but more for large group dining where the dishes and cost can hence be spread out.

There are many restaurant options available in VivoCity. Though the food quality was good, it is not likely we would visit Ximending again unless they adjust their beverage menu and item pricing to make it suitable for single or couple diners.

If you are interested to try out the restaurant, their details are as below:

Address: 1 HarbourFront Walk #01-51A VivoCity Singapore
Tel: +65 6376 8018
Opening Hours: Daily, 12pm – 10pm

  • The exact bill was around $37 if I didn't remember wrongly. So it was expensive right? Anyone else dined there before too?

  • I did not have a good experience with them. My order came after 45 mins after 2 reminder and when I asked for the manager, he did not apologize for the late order and insist the order normally have to wait for 20 mins which by the way my order take 45 mins! I ended up leaving the restaurant without having my order. For your info, my order is just a 肉碎面... Price is one thing, service is another... I wont go there again.
