Citibank’s Mobile App, Citi Mobile

Last Thursday, I attended a bloggers session with Citibank at Charly T’s restaurant, next to The Cathay.

The folks at Citibank gave an introduction to Citibank’s Mobile App, Citi Mobile, compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. It is available for download at the iTune store.

This came at the right time for me as I have just made the switch to iPhone 4 recently. I have already downloaded the app before the session, as well as a few other consumer bank apps. Nonetheless, it is still pretty informative to have the Citibank folks give a step-by-step tutorial on the various functions and usages in the app.

Some features which I found particularly useful were the ATM locater and the dining/shopping privileges finder.

It’s always frustrating when you need cash and cannot find your bank’s ATM location. This app will solve this issue.

For dining/shopping privileges, it is great to be able to know where are the promotions before deciding which store to spend your money in. I hate it when I buy something from one shop and finds out later that a similar item is on 50% discount at the next shop.

I have always been supportive of Citibank. In fact, out of all the credit cards I carry, half of them are Citibank’s and I always use my Citibank cards first for any payment unless a promotion is tied to another bank’s card.

I appreciate the good customer experience I have so far with Citibank – be it their over-the-counter staff, phone service operators and their e-banking system. This app will adds to the overall customer satisfaction and loyalty.

My only grouch is that their ATM coverage in Singapore is still not as wide as the local banks. This should continue to improve, following Citibank’s recent campaign to place a Citibank ATM at every MRT station. 🙂
