Hu Hanxiong, Mister Singapore World 2010 – Male version of Ris Low?

Hu Hanxiong

As alleged by many neitzens after watching Hanxiong’s Mister World 2010 introductory video clip. Many the Singapore government should consider employing speech  therapist for all Singapore beauty pageant winners before they go abroad. :p

INTERVIEW
How are you preparing for Mr World in Korea?
Besides pumping iron in the gym to look good, I’m eating six small meals a day that are high in protein and fibre, low in carbs and fats. I have been reading up about South Korea to understand the culture more.

Do you have a daily routine?
No. Given my job scope, it is hard to maintain a daily routine. But when I’m in Singapore, I love to catch up with my friends for dinner after work and go to the gym to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

What is your biggest talent?
I pick up any sport very quickly, it is my passion.

If you had to perform in front of a live audience what would you do?
I can’t really sing well and I don’t attend dance classes. So if I have to choose between them, I will sing. (But please prepare your ear plugs!)

What’s your best quality?
My strong character. I work hard and supported myself since I was young. Since then, I learnt to cherish things because money is hard to earn and the sense of satisfaction achieved is totally unexplainable.

What’s the one thing you cannot live without?
Love. Without love and emotions, we are no different from machines.

Favourite landmark?
Singapore River. That was the place I encountered many ups and downs with my team mates during my annual Singapore Dragon Boat races.

Favorite film?
‘Full house’ – a really funny Korean drama.

Favorite Sports Car?
Maserati Gran Turismo S

  • Its sad that we Singaporeans never seem to support our own local industry players/leaders/talents.

How can we nurture the potential of our own people if we shoot them down criticism at every flaw they may exhibit?

Shouldn't we be more supportive and encouraging in grooming our local pool of talents for a better Singapore? No?

  • this guy is not pure local! judging from his accent, he is from China! or, migrated from China.

    not a pure Singaporean!

  • I agree with andrewong2024.
How can Singaporeans make quick judgement of our fellow countryman in a 30 seconds video when put under pressure. People who have not gone through such an encounter wouldn't understand. Even for many professional artists, with months of intensive rehearsals could stumble upon their lines and stutter. Where is the graceness of Singaporeans. Instead of supporting Mister Singapore World 2010 3 months ago when he's in Korea, it turns out we're here dissing our own people when we didn't even support him in the first place. If we didn't prepare and support him like we should, who are we to critisize and complain he isn't good enough.

  • And yongwei, don't be too quick to judge, it was explained he took one take, under pressure. Be kind to others. Before you judge others, take a look at yourself to see if you're really that perfect to comment.
