Caught this movie, It’s Complicated, starring veteran actors, Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep and Steve Martin at the preview on Monday. If you don’t know any of this talented trios, you are probably too young to catch the movie anyway (it’s rated NC16 in Singapore for sexual references and some drug uses).

Despite the title, the storyline is really simple – girl (Meryl Streep) meets boy (Steve Martin), falls in love with him, but their relationship did not blossom because the girl’s ex-lover (Alec Baldwin) now wants her back. Typical triangle relationship love story.
Where it gets complicated is that instead of your usual youthful pretty boys and girls, the three leads in this movie have a combined age of over a hundrd years old. Also, the girl and the ex-lover are actually a divorced couple and have children who are old enough to have their own children…
That’s where all the jokes and fun bits kick in on falling in love at old age.
I quite enjoyed the movie. The on screen chemistry between Baldwin and Streep was really great. That alone was able to carry through a relatively predictable storyline with a predictable ending.
It’s Complicated opens in Singapore cinemas from tomorrow (14 Jan 2010). You can find out more about the movie and watch the trailer on the official website.

I swore not to watch this. Hopefully i can resist my boredom. Watching Meryl Streep prance around, pretending to be cottequish young woman in Mama Mia! is cringe-wringing enough. Watching senior citizens banging the drums...well, i really don't wanna think about it...
