Canopy Cafe @ Marina Bay Golf Course

Outdoor cafe

Rachel and I were introduced by our friend, Mark and Meiyen to Canopy Cafe. The restaurant serves a mix of Western and Asian dishes – from pastas to your fried rice and hor fun.

Price is pretty reasonable and the staff were friendly. I won’t say the food were bad, but they were not exceptional either – kind of like the run-of-the-mill food that you expect from many other small cafes around Singapore that specialise in nothing, offering lots of stuff in their menu, both Western and Asian.

Cream pasta
Seafood pasta
Tau hu goreng
Seafood fried rice

However, what is lacking in the food is more than compensated by the wonderful view of the Marina Bay area and the vast free parking lots available.

Check out the pictures below:

The golf course
Lots of free parking lots
Very nice view

A restaurant with a view usually comes with a high price tag. In the case of Canopy Cafe, this is not the case. 🙂 This place is perfect for a romantic, quiet dinner with your significant other, particularly on occasions when there will be fireworks display going on at Marina Bay.

There’s a lot of mosquitoes and other insects though. This is probably due to the proximity to the grassy golf course. Hence you may want to go covered up from to to toes, else apply sufficient insect repellent.

Here’s their address:

80 Rhu Cross
#02-01 Marina Bay Golf Course

  • Very delicious food items are displayed here i think i may change my vacation to here so that i can watch the golf match also.

  • Highest Authority of Management,

On the 13th January 2011, I visited your premises for my lunch. Suddenly 1 of your chinese female staff age about 20 - 27 was shouted at me for nothing. I did not do anything but she just shouted at me. I personally felt that it was a very embarrasing of your staff to do such things in front of publics and it could bring down your cafe image. I hope that you could do something about it.

    Thanks!
    Alfino

  • My friend n I like the nice view. We do not expect service as u would in a nice expensive restaurant but the service over the weekend leaves much to be desired. Probably the cafe is short handed but they did not have to pretend that they did not see us or that the table had not been cleaned or that we were seated there without giving us a menu for ten minutes! We are still waiting for the menu as we speak...
