Gmail Customer Care Scam Email

If you receive an email supposedly from “Gmail Customer Care” asking for your gmail username and password, beware! It’s a scam to phish for your login details.

I received this in my mailbox today:

Die Scammer! (Click on image to enlarge)

In summary, the scammer claims that Google has selected my email for deletion because of a rise in the number of anonymous accounts and they are trying to clean up the user base. To keep my email, I have to reply them with my username, password and other personal particulars to prove to them I am a real person.

Fishy.

I mean… doesn’t Google has all our personal particulars stored when we register for an email account? Why do they need to ask for it from us? 🙂

Anyway, just be careful. There are lots of stupid variation of email scams like these out there. When in doubt, consult your best friend, Google, Yahoo or other reputable search engines, searching under email hoax or scam.
