Creepy Japanese Android

Named as the Repliee R-1 robot, this robot is described to have “50 sensors, and a number of motors to allow her to move more like a human than previous robots.”   The robot was engineered at the University of Osaka, Japan and is modeled to look like a five-year-old Japanese child.

It may be an engineering marvel by it’s own merit, but to me, this little girl robot looks downright CREEPY!!! It looks like something that will fit very nicely in horror movies. I am sure Repliee R-1 will have a great career ahead making horror flicks. 🙂
