Cover Copy?

A reader called Tiny emailed me about this yesterday.

Check out the two magazines’ covers below. The first one is the cover of Mediacorp’s 8 Days magazine, dated August, 2008. The latter is the cover of New York magazine dated April 2008, featuring the cast of The Gossip Girl. The poses and art direction looks uncannily similar doesn’t it?

Hmmm…

Then again, this could be a classic pose that is being used frequently in photography. Anyone more familiar with the subject care to provide some insights? 🙂
