David Gan vs Addy Lee: Who is the better stylist?

(picture via Wanbao blog)

Following the success of my previous rhetorical post on Xiaxue vs Dawn Yang: Who is prettier?, I shall post another rhetoric – David Gan vs Addy Lee: Who is the better stylist?

The two top hairstylists in Singapore have been in the media limelight lately for alleged feuding, supposedly sparked by David Gan’s comment on how he is like the the Mandarin Hotel chicken rice while Addy Lee is like the Newton Circles Chicken Rice.

You can read more about the feud on omy or on David Gan’s blog.

What do you think? Who is the better stylist? (I shall not comment as I have not visited either of their salons before)

  • Yes I agree David Gan is better. He also is very more expensive when comparison the two.

  • david gan for sure. he is right about the mandarin hotel, newton thing. david has a rep for being more atas and atracts a more select group of clientele. addy's salon is only known for giving bad hair jobs to mediacorp actresses.

  • I personally feel they are both great. Both really looking hot and have special attractive qualities. Addy is gentle whilst David is stylish and who cares about him beingshort when you have all it takes to be the best hairstylist?

Addy is my cup of tea with regards to fashion and taste! He is so understanding and wow, when he gives his comments, it's crisp and tastefully done. He regards people's feelings correctly and can read your mind!

  • Frankly, Addy sucks.

I have supported him before he made a name for himself. Back in 1994 he started with a small shop at Bt Timah Plaza. I supported him with hair treatment packages etc. Faithful supporter, He even did my bridal hairdo in 1995. when he moved to a better shop within the same compound, I continued to support him till he moved into Orchard Hotel. By then he was a little more popular and very stuck up. We are the paying class customers while celebrities are mostly sponsored. I was asked to sit in the VIP lounge and when celebrity came he asked his subordinated to get me to shift out. This is the last and I will not pay him even a cent. I would rather let other people make the $.

Honestly, his hairstyling skills are horrible. Once make me look like an auntie when I told him i can't perm my hair but he went ahead and perm it. Shit, it was bad and I have to spend $ to straighten it and sign up treatment package to save my hair.

Addy, please don't practice double standards. We have $ to pay so please respect people who pay your salary.

Btw, I am very happy with my current hairstylist Anthony at Central. Nice and no airs. Learn from him such a humble guy.

  • The such as you examine my mind! You seem to fully grasp lots about it, just like you authored the e-book within it or something. I have faith that you only may possibly utilize some p. c. in order to power the message house somewhat, but instead of of which, that is definitely excellent blog. An excellent go through. I will definitely be again.

  • went to storm salon at tampiness also under Moonsoon group, average at best, should try jean yip
