Discriminatory Dating Website

Are you hot enough?

I came across this dating website for beautiful people which was mentioned on the Freakonomics blog.

The site is called Darwin Dating and here’s how it describes itself:

“Sick of dating websites filled with ugly, unattractive, desperate fatsos? We are. Darwin Dating was created exclusively for beautiful, desirable people. Our strict rules and natural selection process ensures all our members have winning looks…”

Only beautiful people can join their rank. To determine this – the photo that you submit will be put up for voting to decide if you should be allowed to join the rank of Darwin’s chosen ones.

Their tagline reads – Online Dating Minus Ugly People.

The site screams DISCRIMINATORY IN BOLD RED.

However, it seems to be doing well – which seems pretty strange to me as I really can’t figure out why beautiful people even needs to go to an online dating site!

As I don’t deem myself as a beautiful person chosen by Darwin’s theory of natural selection, I did not register for an account to try out the site.

However, if there are any of you out there beautiful enough, do try it out and share with me your user experience about this dating site. 🙂

I mean…

I am really curious!

Darn! If only I was born beautiful.
