All the food items in their menu is natural to the maximum. Everything is uncooked, served at room temperate with no ice for drinks and no heating for solids as it is believed nutrients are best preserved if we eat food raw, unprocessed as they are.

Extreme?

I believe Frunatic must be the most extreme all-natural restaurant in Singapore, maybe even in Asia and the region.

I have to admit, when my colleague brought me there for lunch, I had back-up plan to grab some char kway teow or other food item after eating at Frunatic.

I was not convinced that eating raw fruits, nuts and vegetables will be filling, healthy as they may be. It all seems like rabbit food to me and very unappealing.

I like my food strong in flavour, with ample seasoning and preparation.

After trying out the food at Frunatic, I was pleasantly surprised to find the portions rather filling. I did not have to pack food from other stalls after that.

The food was pretty tasty too. This was a big surprise for me.

I usually associate healthy food with crappy taste, but I quite enjoyed munching on the raw food mixture served at Frunatic. Their head nutritionist shared with us that she and her team took more than two years to conceptualise and experiment before they came up with each of the items in the menu.

Simple as they may look, much thought was giving to the pairing of the ingredient and the sauces used to ensure all the flavours complement or even enhance each other.

Note, the entree below are all half portion in size for sampling:

Summer Orchard - A fusion of stone fruits like peach and apricot, accompanied by a crunch of corn kernels with citric dressing and walnuts topping.

I usually hate alfafa, but I find them quite palatable at Frunatic when blended with other suitable flavours.

Prices are reasonable, at around S$7.90+ for a main course. The boss told us that fruits are actually very expensive ingredient, something that many Singaporeans tend to overlook.

Interesting, I was down with a slight viral infection that day and was just prescribed with some medicine from my regular doctor. My throat was a little raspy and my nose was stuffy. After the heavy dose of fruits, nuts and vegetables at Frunatic, I got better the next day without taking any medication.

Maybe it was psychological, but I kid you not. The doctor told me the viral infection is rather strong lately and it should take about two weeks for me to get better. Instead, I find myself pretty okay in just two days!

I am so bringing my wife and son to Frunatic for nutrients replenishing!

Other than the restaurant, Frunatic sells food preparation devices so you can prepare your own raw, healthy food in the comfort of your own home:

Opening soon at the same location, Frunatic will also have an InOut Wellness Clinic which aims to provide a complete range of wellness services for total well-being.

Kudos to the boss of Frunatic for brining in such a daring lifestyle and eating concept into Singapore. The restaurant has only been opened for a few weeks and I am not sure how Singaporeans will take to it.

For me, I was very skeptical at first, but am sold on the concept now.
