Private Moon (2003 – 2008) is described as a visual poem about a moon that has descended from the sky and is living a peaceful existence with a man (Leonid Tishkov). It is an installation artwork by Russian artist, Leonid Tishkov and has been brought in to Singapore as part of the Singapore Biennale 2008 where it is exhibited at the South Beach Development.

For the Singapore leg, there’s an image of the Private Moon being brought into the HDB heartland (as above) and the artifact itself is currently displayed at the South Beach Development, where you can see it from the balcony housing all the Private Moon photos (as below).

This idea of the moon as a pet (or a lover) is a humorous fantasy and it could be read as a joke, a romantic reverie, or perhaps a phantasmagoria. For Rachel and I, we just thought it was cute. 🙂
