Specially handcrafted by locally renowned chefs like Chef Wilin Low of Wild Rocket and Chef Janice Wong of 2am: dessert bar, The Inspired Chef ice creams by F&N is a a range of artisanal ice cream concocted to tease Singaporean tastebuds and whet our appetite.

For generations, F&N has served many homes with their classic ice cream flavours under the flagship F&N MAGNOLIA, Meadow Gold and King’s ice cream brands. Here’s something more premium from them, inspired by a play on local flavours, working with local chefs.

Chef Willin Low of Wild Rocket was inspired by his favourite childhood snack, gong tng or peanut brittle when he formulated Double Peanut Fudge. True to his culinary style that combines western cuisine with a local flavour, Double Peanut Fudge promises a heavenly peanut butter ice cream infused with bits of crunchy peanut candy brittle and drizzled with dark chocolate fudge.

Chef Pang Kok Keong of Antoinette goes classic with Raspberry Cheesecake Rumble – the velvety goodness of cream cheese ice cream swirled with raspberry coulis, topped with butter crumble for an added crunch.

Cocoa-lovers are in for a treat with Divine Chocolate Tart. Concocted in collaboration with Bakerzin, a leading local patisserie, Divine Chocolate Tart impresses with a blend of fine chocolate ice cream, topped with butter crumble and a dash of sea salt. The adventurous can also opt for the unique taste of White Chocolate & Black Sesame ice cream – a harmonious combination of luscious white chocolate ice cream and savoury black sesame.

Rachel and I sampled the Double Peanut Fudge and White Chocolate & Black Sesame ice creams:

Both ice creams were rather satisfying and have unique east-meets-west, uniquely Singapore flavours. I find both flavours a tad too sweet; though I think most others will enjoy them. I would recommend the Double Peanut Fudge over the other flavour if you are interested to try.

I like the concept of F&N working with local chefs to craft these ice cream flavours. Who says artisanal and mainstream cannot go hand-in-hand?

The Inspired Chef ice creams retail atS$14.90 a pint (473ml) and can be purchased online via the official website.
