Occupy Central in Hong Kong and Beyond’s

I saw this video of the Occupy Central protesters in Hong Kong and felt a rush of emotions:

My heart goes out to the protesters and I hope there will be a peaceful resolution. No one wants to witness another Tiananmen Massacre.

This is the original music video for the song, 海阔天空 (ocean deep, sky wide), which seems to have become the unofficial protest anthem:

I grew up listening to canto-rock band, Beyond and their messages on world peace and freedom. I believe many others born in the 80s share my experience – definitely so in Hong Kong where Beyond was once the king of rock in the erstwhile British Hong Kong, now China Hong Kong.

Occupy Central in Hong Kong and Beyond's 海阔天空 - Alvinology

Ironically, Beyond’s Paul Wong (黄贯中), who made this song famous, only saw a revival of his career recently… on a CHINA TV show, singing this song:

There is no escaping the behemoth of mainland China.
