    Serious? Female recruits?

  2. It’s about time. Our nation is swimming with tough women. Consider the sport games and Mt Everest. They r ready.

  3. Dare mo Shiranai says:

Yet another batch of future specialists and warrant officers… fresh meat for the grinder. If I am not wrong, female officers will already have completed their Basic inside OCS while simultaneously going through the officer course, yes?

Hmm well, good publicity is always good, perhaps MINDEF PAFF should do a feature on them.

  4. Patriot says:

It’s amazing how little some people knows about servicewomen. There are 2 kind of BMT, combat and service. For combat(OCS/SISPEC), the servicewomen undergo the full BMT, similar to what the serviceman are going through. For servicewomen who signed up service vocations, they will undergo a 3 week BMT instead.

For OCTs-to-be, these servicewomen have to go through and be selected for OCS. Therefore, OCS does NOT conduct BMT.

    Pukes !

  8. Lao Te says:

I understand that females can have a very big and significant contribution to our country’s defence. But I personally do not agree that they should be on front line duties. I am not doubting their capability but think about this. What happens if the platoon gets captured POW. Who do you think the enermy will torture for information. I know the females may be strong enough to handle it, but i doubt the fellow male soldiers will. Once the cries of the female being tortured is heard, the hearts of the men will fail…

  9. Mike Pickett says:

Hi all congrads to the women who choose to support thier nation. When you as a Service member say I will defend the constitution against all enemies ,,, that is a powerful statement. They dont have to but choose to….. its the commentment…. to me that is even more powerful than being conscripted …congrads ladies “Give them hell”

  10. Clair had a very impressive high school and college resume, and it s amazing that he fell all the way to the 7th round of the 2008 draft.

  11. keyzin says:

these female troopers are inside my batch :) we pass out together last year :D

  12. Pete says:

It’s voluntary, and girls who have signed up may be doing so out of a sense of patriotism, as happens in other countires. I hope Mindef takes pains to nurture this ideal over their career span so it does not just become a job. No doubt each soldier had her personal reasons for enlisting, but it could not have been and easy choice, nor will it mean a carefree career for most. Going against odds and being willing to endure hardship are positive traits the Nation should recognise and grow. Stand tall, ladies!
